Our titles follow the MHRA referencing style. Ideally, manuscripts submitted to us should be written according to their style guide. Please visit the MHRA website for guidelines.

As there are so many new titles released each year, one cannot just hope for the best and let fate take care of your book. The Pertinent Press therefore adopts a clear and thorough marketing strategy aimed at the book market of the 21st century. Our marketing strives to be professional, relevant, properly targeted, creative, and innovative. At the same time, we do not forget that editorial standards are extremely important if we want to establish our authors’ reputation and our own brand’s reputation. In other words, unlike other publishers, we concentrate on editorial standards and book marketing.
First of all, with your help, we identify the book’s target audience. We do not take any reader’s interest for granted and therefore we engage in carefully planned campaigns.
We write professional and interesting author bios and promote them on our website and on social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube etc.). The same applies to the book itself, by promoting it not only on social media but through press releases and specialised journals and blogs.
We sell your book through traditional and newer distribution channels. Each title we publish is immediately available on all the major online bookshop websites: Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Waterstones, The Book Depository, Alibris, Booktopia (Australia), Powell’s Books (US), Foyles (UK), Blackwell’s (UK), Lovereading (UK), Adlibris (Sweden), Bokus (Sweden), The Church Bookroom (US), Indigo (US), booklooker (Germany), Bol (Netherlands), Readings (Australia), Infibeam (India), Tanum (Norway), Libreria Universitaria (Italy), Wook (Portugal), etc.
We are aware of the fact that many books only attract attention before they are published and sales drop shortly after their release date. So we make it one of our priorities to find ways to keep interest in your book from waning, and to keep your book relevant for its intended readership.
In our marketing efforts, we look for the ‘right people and offer them the right book by saying the right things in the right way at the right time and in the right place’. You help us with your specialised knowledge; we analyse data, use our mailing lists and observe market trends.
Your book will appear on our website and will be advertised through advance notices or advance information sheets. We also enrol ‘silent salespeople’, through relevant websites and bloggers, governmental and other relevant organisations as well as professional organisations and trade bodies, relevant associations and groups, and appropriate media and press.
On top of all that, we research the market for your book, not just to find the right buyers, but also to determine the right price.
In other words, we do all that is possible to ensure that your book reaches the markets it was intended for, to give you the author the maximum exposure possible and to give our readers access to high-quality books, both editorially and content-wise.
We believe that author, publisher, and reader form an important partnership for the dissemination and spread of intelligent ideas, knowledge, and expertise.
